Hyundai Ioniq EV & PHEV Charging
Available with a hybrid, PHEV or fully electric drivetrain, the Ioniq is Hyundai's attempt to conquer the Australian mass market by offering customers choice. With conventional aesthetics and a low price point, this is an electric car for anyone.
Price: $40,990 (PHEV) & $50,000 (EV)
Electric range: 46 km (PHEV) & 198 km (EV)
Capacity (in kWh): 8.9 kWh (PHEV) & 28 kWh (EV)
Acceleration (0-100 kph): 9.9 seconds (EV)
Torque: 295 Nm (EV)
Top speed: 165 kph (EV)
Every Hyundai Ioniq comes with a charging cable that can be used to charge the car from a domestic power point. However this will only charge the car at 10 A meaning to completely recharge, the process may take up to 15 hours!
The Ioniq is compatible with many other chargers which use the Type 2 - 62196 plug standard. These can provide up to 32A of current, meaning the EV model can be fully charged in 4-5 hours. Installing a charging station removes the hassle of a potable charger and is the best choice for electric vehicle owners.
