What is V2G?
Vehicle to Grid (V2G) enables bi-directional charging; in addition to charging your electric vehicle, a V2G capable charging station – like the Wallbox Quasar – can also be used to draw electricity from your EV’s battery to supply your home or export energy to the grid. Essentially, charge can go in or out of your vehicle depending on where it’s needed most.
Key Competition Details:

A little more about V2G charging in Australia
Whilst Wallbox have confirmed that Quasar 1 will not be available for further distribution, we’re
happy excited to be collaborating e alongside fellow innovators like Amber, before the wider release of the next generation of V2G chargers.

Who is Amber?
Amber’s mission is to shift Australia to 100% renewable energy. They’re an electricity retailer and a tech company, passing through real-time wholesale prices directly to homes and businesses so customers can do things like charge their EV on cheaper and greener energy. They then give customers the technology to make the most of wholesale, by automating devices in their homes (currently batteries with EVs coming soon). Customers get 100% of the value earned from their systems – which means that when a battery discharges into the grid at a critical time when their energy is worth more, they can earn as much as $15/kWh, or as much as $100 in a day. Imagine what that will mean for V2G in the future..!
JET Charge are proud to work alongside a likeminded, Australian organisation in Amber who are supporting our ongoing pursuit to break down the barriers to EV Charging.
